Position of the interface module and the gear unit

The position of the interface module on the gear unit is specified as before with 0°, 90°, 180°, or 270° as viewed onto the motor cover = B‑side. A change to product standard EN 60034 stipulates that the following designation must be used in addition for the interface module position of motors:

  • As viewed onto the output shaft = A-side
  • Designation as R (right), B (bottom), L (left) and T (top)

This new designation applies to motors without gear unit. For gearmotors, the previous designation is retained. The following figure shows both designations. If the mounting position of the motor changes, R, B, L, and T are rotated accordingly. For gearmotors in mounting position M3, the position of the T / 270° interface module is at the bottom.

The following figure shows the positions of the interface module in connection with a parallel-shaft helical gear unit.

The following figure shows the positions of the interface module in connection with a right-angle gear unit.

INFORMATION

Check whether the gearmotor must be supported and the shaft no longer collides with the design.
