Configuration parameters

The following figure shows a schematic representation of a combi telescope. The figure shows the general configuration parameters for storage and retrieval, which are explained in more detail below. For an overview of all configuration parameters, refer to chapter Configuration.

[1] Belt end/synchronous point

For the application, the end of the belt represents the synchronous point for storage and retrieval operations. At this point, the telescope and belt have the same speed so that the transfer of a box from telescope to belt (transfer to stock) or from belt to telescope (remove from stock) can be performed without any slip.

The belt end or the synchronous point cannot be explicitly set in the configuration of the software module in MOVISUITE®. However, other parameters refer to this point.

[2] Distance of box to belt end

During the storage process, the distance between the box at the front and the end of the belt is part of the synchronization distance of the belt.

[3] Distance of telescope in home position to belt end

The distance of the telescope in the home position to the end of the belt is part of the telescope's synchronization distance during the storage process.

Belt stop distance

The stopping distance of the belt during a storage process describes the distance the belt travels after the box has left the belt. This means the box is moved at a speed greater than 0 after it has been transferred to the telescope. This parameter should be set in such a way that boxes that are not to be transferred to stock remain on the belt of the load handling device. The parameter is illustrated in the following figure.

[4] Belt pretravel distance

Distance a belt is allowed to travel to reach the transfer speed of a box at a synchronous point not equal to 0 during the process of removing a box from stock. This parameter should be set taking into account the position of boxes already present on the load handling device. The parameter is illustrated in the following figure.

[5] Belt overtravel distance

Describes the distance between the box and the end of the belt at the end of the movement during the process of removing a box from stock. The parameter is illustrated in the following figure.

[6] Length of the belt conveyor

Length of the belt conveyors in the application. All belt conveyors must have the same length.
