EU Data Act

The product offers "Access by Design" for all data generated by the product and thus meets the requirements of the EU Data Act (Regulation 2023/2851):

Storing data

  • Data in the product is stored until it is actively deleted or overwritten.
  • Log and scope data is automatically overwritten in the designated ring buffers as soon as they are full.
  • Scope data is only stored in the device-internal RAM and is deleted after the device is restarted.

Accessing data

  • All data can be read from the product using freely available engineering software from SEW-EURODRIVE or via local interfaces or network connections. Corresponding HMI systems and external controllers can also access the data of the product.

Deleting data

Data transmission

  • The product does not automatically transfer data to devices in it's environment.

Quality of service

  • The device has different qualities of service for data communication:
    • Cyclic communication to control the device. A few bytes are transferred real-time capably and cyclically.
    • Acyclic access to all idle data stored on the device.
  • The response time depends on the communication interface used.
  • The cycle time is determined by the controlling or requesting device, and is usually between 1 ms and 100 ms.

For information regarding the data generated by the product, stored internally and transferred to other devices in the environment, as well as regarding deletion of data, refer to IT security guidelines for secure disposal.
