Service life limits of BP.. brakes

For the brakes in the BP.. series, the service life is limited even in no-load operation (known as no-load switching without braking work) due to their residual friction behavior in no-load operation (relatively low wear air gap).

The following limit values apply, depending on the size:

• BP01: 0.15 × 10⁶ switching cycles
• BP04: 1 × 10⁶ switching cycles
• BP09: 1.5 × 10⁶ switching cycles
• BP1: 4 × 10⁶ switching cycles
• BP3: 2.5 × 10⁶ switching cycles
• BP5: 1.5 × 10⁶ switching cycles

A supplementary verification must be carried out by the engineer in addition to the dimensioning process shown.
