Encoder source

Selection of the encoder source:

• Encoder 2 – The encoder is connected to a MOVI-C^® axis.
• External source: If an external encoder is used that is connected via EtherCAT^®, for example.

Encoder min. value

(Only required if "External source" is selected as the encoder source.)

Minimum value of the encoder position

The encoder position is processed as a 32-bit DINT value. If the encoder position covers the entire DINT range (-2147483648 … 2147483647), "Encoder min. value" and "Encoder max. value" must be set to 0.

Encoder max. value

(Only required if "External source" is selected as the encoder source.)

Maximum value of the encoder position

The encoder position is processed as a 32-bit DINT value. If the encoder position covers the entire DINT range (-2147483648 … 2147483647), "Encoder min. value" and "Encoder max. value" must be set to 0.

Filter

Filter type

Selection of the filter for the position signal of the encoder:

• No filter – No filtering of the encoder value
• Average filter – Mean value filter
• PT1 filter – PT1 filter

Denominator

Display of the denominator value from the calculation of the user units. The user units are adjusted via the "User unit" tab.

Numerator

Display of the numerator value from the calculation of the user units. The user units are adjusted via the "User unit" tab.

Monitoring functions

Consistency check position window

Window for the consistency check between the position stored in the MOVI-C^® CONTROLLER and the current position of the encoder. A warning is given if the position stored in the MOVI-C^® CONTROLLER (RETAIN) and the actual position of the encoder are outside of the window. If the value = 0, the consistency check is switched off.
