Adding a new asset

INFORMATION

Sensors that are assigned to an asset in Schaeffler OPTIME are automatically synchronized with the linked asset in the software.

Proceed as follows:

  • You are authorized to add a new asset.
  • The asset has been successfully put into operation in Schaeffler OPTIME.
  • The details view of the instance to which you want to add an asset is open.
  1. Open the creation dialog by clicking the [ADD NEW ASSET] button.
    • If no asset is found in Schaeffler OPTIME, a dialog box indicating this opens.
    • If an asset is found in Schaeffler OPTIME, the Configure [asset name] page opens.
    • If several assets are found in Schaeffler OPTIME, select the asset you want to add. The Configure [asset name] page opens.
  2. Use the [YES] and [NO] buttons to select whether the asset is an SEW-EURODRIVE component.
  3. If the asset is an SEW-EURODRIVE component, take a photo of the nameplate. Based on the photo, information about the asset is automatically filled in.
  4. If the asset is not an SEW-EURODRIVE component or if you have skipped the previous step, fill in the information manually.
    • If the asset is an SEW-EURODRIVE component, it is added automatically.
    • If the asset is not an SEW-EURODRIVE component, you must enter additional information.
  5. Specify the manufacturer of the asset and upload images of the asset and nameplate.
  6. Optionally make the following additional settings: assignment of the asset to a new or existing grouping within the instance, installation position, terminal box alignment, additional notes, upload of photos and videos.
  7. To save the settings, click the [SAVE] button.
    • The new asset has been created.
  8. Click the [DONE] button.
    • A dialog box opens.
  9. Use the [YES] and [NO] buttons to select whether you want to add another asset.
    • If you click [YES], the creation dialog opens.
    • If you click [NO], the instance details view displays.
  • Newly added assets are displayed in the instance details view.
