Useful life

The storage units are subject to aging due to environmental effects and operating conditions. This leads to a decrease in the useful capacitance and an increase in the equivalent series resistance of the storage units.

This means that the storage units have a limited useful life. The end of the useful life is defined as the point in time when one or both of the following cases occur:

  • The capacitance of the energy modules is reduced by 20%.
  • The equivalent series resistance of the energy modules has increased by 100%.

INFORMATION

During project planning, the energy storage units must be dimensioned in such a way that they meet the requirements even at the end of their useful life.
Therefore, have project planning carried out by SEW-EURODRIVE that is specific for the application. This also enables an estimation of the useful life.
