Software limit switches
The software limit switches can be used to limit the travel range of an axis. If the drive is referenced, the software limit switches can be monitored. Monitoring of the software limit switches is activated during the configuration of the software module.
If software limit switch monitoring is enabled and the positive or negative limit switch position is exceeded, the following response is triggered, depending on the active operating mode:
- Jog mode position-controlled (100)
- The drive stops with the value of process data word "PO 4: Deceleration" at the limit switch position. If a response is defined in the "SW limit switch hit response" parameter, the error "E30.1/E30.2 SW limit switch: Positive/negative limit switch reached" is triggered.
- Jog mode speed-controlled (101) and speed control (200)
- The drive stops with the set emergency stop ramp. If the "Emergency stop + output stage inhibit" response is defined in the "SW limit switch hit response" parameter, the error "E30.1/E30.2 SW limit switch: Positive/negative limit switch reached" is triggered.
Errors can be reset using process data word PO 1.8 "Error reset". First, specify a direction of rotation or a target position in the direction of the valid range of the software limit switches.
If you want to leave the travel range limited by the software limit switches, deactivate the software limit switches using the process data word "PO 12: Deactivate SW limit switches”.
