Encoder evaluation of the CSS..A safety option

The CSS..A safety option supports 1-encoder concepts with a safe encoder. The encoder used is deemed a safe encoder if the following conditions are met:

  • The encoder must comply with the necessary safety requirements according to EN ISO 13849‑1 and EN 62061.
  • The encoder must be approved for the use of speed/position-dependent safety sub-functions.

The safe encoder can be connected in the following ways:

  • as a motor encoder without MOVILINK® DDI to X15 on the device
  • as a motor encoder with MOVILINK® DDI to X16 on the device

The encoder that is used is selected in the Assist CS.. tool in the "Encoder" dialog via the "Encoder type" drop-down list. All of the required encoder configurations are taken over. The parameter is marked with an "i" if the encoder selection deviates from the configured motor encoder in the drive train.
