Known encoder coupling errors
Mechanical encoder coupling errors
- Discontinuities in mechanical transmission elements (e.g. grounded cable hoists or drums unwinding that is unnoticed by the encoder)
- Incorrect friction wheel diameter, e.g. due to wear (incorrect gear unit ratio)
- Slipping of the encoder or motor mode in the case of frictional connections due to insufficient friction force
- Drifting of the encoder sensor head or the measuring scale or the laser mirror
Electronic encoder coupling errors
- Freezing of the encoder signal without notification of an encoder error
Special coupling errors or operating states on the measuring scale
- Measuring tape
- Measuring tape has moved out of place.
- Measuring tape has cracks.
- Measuring tape has zero ranges.
- Measuring tape is damaged or dirty.
- Laser light reflector
- Laser signal is interrupted or disturbed (e.g. by people or birds).
INFORMATION: The detection of this brief interruption of the sensor signal in order to continue moving with the help of the motor encoder is in preparation.
