Monitoring of encoder couplings

The "Monitoring of encoder couplings" function monitors the mechanical coupling between external encoders and motor encoders. To determine whether the information from the external encoder is within the permitted mechanical tolerances, the information from the motor encoder is used for comparison. The coupling is thus monitored from the evaluation of the sensor of the external encoder via its measuring scale (e.g. barcode tape) to the gear unit output via a large number of transmission elements (via the gear unit on to the motor shaft and back to the motor encoder and its evaluation).
