IoT Suite

Visible only if the IoT Suite mode is activated.

The requirements and preparations for synchronizing the devices managed in the SDC with the IoT Suite are summarized as guidelines in the "IoT Suite" tab. These requirements must be met/the preparations must be made in order to create the plants and the associated devices in the IoT Suite and assign received data packages. Go through the points step-by-step from top to bottom.

Requirements

The following requirements, shown as a checklist, must be met and the corresponding check boxes must be enabled:

  • Device scan and metadata management
  • The IoT Suite requires a list of devices whose condition should be monitored and analyzed. Perform a device scan and add the suitable devices to the device management. Then adjust the metadata (application type, functional location, system level) of the devices.
  • Data containers and data collection
  • Adjust preconfigured containers according to your needs. Also test the containers by enabling them or triggering them manually. The result can be viewed in the dashboard. If the process was successful, enable the containers in order to collect data permanently.
  • Default endpoint and assignment to data containers
  • The default endpoint is used to transmit collected data to the IoT Suite. Therefore, configure at least the default endpoint to send data packages to the IoT Suite. This endpoint is also used to synchronize the device list with the IoT Suite.
IoT Suite preparation

The following preparations must be made for startup:

  • IoT Suite connectivity
  • Check the availability of the IoT Suite upload server using the [Check IoT Suite connectivity] button and, if necessary, resolve any obstacles.
  • IoT Suite default containers
  • Use the [Enable all default data containers] button to enable the use of the default containers for the IoT Suite and for the evaluation by IoT Suite analysis rules. When the default containers are enabled, already enabled containers are not taken into account and are not overwritten.
Synchronization

When all requirements are met (check boxes enabled) and preparations have been made, the synchronization with the IoT Suite can be started using the [Start synchronization] button. The displayed date of the last synchronization indicates when a synchronization was last performed.
