Data management via File over EtherCAT® (FoE)

If the EtherCAT® master supports the FoE service (see manufacturer documentation of the EtherCAT® master), the parameter set of the inverter can be saved on the EtherCAT® master or on the engineering PC. The saved data can also be reloaded into the inverter. Thus, a complete device replacement can be carried out by the data management without repeating startup.

The parameter set contains the following data:

  • Motor data and startup data
  • Safety-related parameterization, if present
  • Scope data, if present

Data management can be performed either via the engineering tool of the EtherCAT® master or from the control program of the PLC using a function block. In both cases, user interfaces are required on the inverter.
