A/B device

A master according to AS‑Interface specification version V3.0, Rev. 2 with master profile M4 is required to control the A/B device.

2 profiles can be set for control purposes:

• 4 DI/4 DO – For simple functions and a fast cycle time

• 8 DI/8 DO – For extended control options but a slower cycle time
• The 8 DI/8 DO profile is designed for analog sensors. SEW‑EURODRIVE uses this profile to transmit 8 bits of digital control information and status information. The 8 bits of data are usually mapped in the PLC in the data modules for analog data (I/O range).

This device type supports the extended addressing of AS-Interface specification version V3.0. Therefore, up to 62 drives can be integrated into an AS‑Interface network.
