Torque control

Torque-controlled movement of an axis with or without encoder feedback in FCB 07. The direction depends on the sign of the torque setpoint. A positive setpoint corresponds to a positive motor direction of rotation. The maximum speed is specified by PO 2 "Maximum speed". When the motor reaches this speed, its torque is limited regardless of the set torque. Acceleration and deceleration values result from the setpoint torque and load torque depending on the application.

With the following control modes, it is possible to activate this operating mode:

  • CFC
  • VFCPLUS (with and without encoder)
  • ELSM® (encoderless, in the "controlled operation" operating range, i.e. above the transition speed of approx. 2%...5% of the nominal speed)

Practical significance for the "ELSM®" operating mode: The FCB 07 "Torque control" can only be activated when the flying start function is active and above the transition speed (example: winding drive). If the speed is too low, the system shuts down with a fault message. The transition speed can be reached either by an external drive or by speed control of the inverter in the FCB 05.

INFORMATION

In the torque control operating mode (FCB 07), the speed controller must be set expediently via the drive train optimization.
Use hardware limit switches to monitor the travel range.

INFORMATION

Monitoring of the software limit switches is deactivated in operation without an encoder.
Use hardware limit switches to monitor the travel range.

INFORMATION

In mode 800 (torque control), the torque application limit always applies in all stop FCBs. This applies regardless of the "Use torque limits from profile value connection" setting.
