Removing the product from its intended environment

If the data stored on the product is considered relevant for IT security, remove the data as described in the section Secure removal of data stored in the product.

Depending on the configuration and firmware, the product can independently transfer data to devices in the environment. In addition, other devices in the environment, such as controllers, HMI, engineering PCs, or operator panels, can read and save data from the product. This includes reference data, configuration data, log data and other data belonging to the product.

If the data stored in the environment is classified as relevant for IT security, remove this data according to the documentation of the respective devices in the environment.
