Preventing the mechanical limit speed from being exceeded

To prevent the mechanical limit speed of the encoder from being exceeded, the following overspeed limits are monitored by the MOVISAFE^® CSS..A safety options:

The overspeed limit for the CSA31A safety option can be parameterized in the Assist CS.. tool in the "Encoder functions" tab.

INFORMATION

Exceeding the overspeed limit results in an error message in the safety option with the error response "STO" within 11 ms for the sin/cos encoder or 17 ms for safety encoders with MOVILINK^® DDI. The error response is executed by the STO circuit within another 2 ms.

Measures in the application must ensure that the mechanical limit speed is not reached during this time (11 ms/17 ms).
