Response time until brake application

The response time for applying the brake via the digital input DB00 or the safe digital input SBC is made up of the sum of the following times:

  • Response time of brake module
  • Switching time of brake

Switching time of brake

Duration from disconnection of the DC 24 V voltage at the digital input DB00 or the safe digital input SBC until disconnection of the brake voltage.

  • SEW‑EURODRIVE brakes with two-coil system (3-wire technology):
    • To configure the braking distance with functional control, you can use the switching times of the brake t2,II for cut-off in the DC and AC circuit.
    • To evaluate the overall system, use the brake application time t2,I for cut-off in the AC circuit to configure the braking distance with safe control via SBC.
