The software module is used to operate storage/retrieval systems in an energy-efficient manner. On top of the savings from eliminating the connected DC link, additional energy savings of up to 10% can be achieved by optimizing the travel cycles of lifting drives and travel drives.

The software module can be used to implement storage/retrieval systems with up to 4 travel axes and up to 4 lifting axes. Both directions of movement require at least one external encoder each, or must be connected to the environment without slip. Target positions and dynamic parameters for the travel axes and lifting axes are specified via a user-friendly process data interface.

Overview of functions
  • Energy-optimized XY positioning: Up to 10% energy savings by optimizing the travel cycles of lifting drives and travel drives
  • Mechanically optimized XY positioning (diagonal positioning): Mechanical system protected by optimizing the travel cycles of lifting and travel drives
  • Electrical braking if encoder fault occurs: In the event of a fault, braking is performed electrically (including in multi-axis mode) to prevent skewing of synchronized axes.
  • 2 speed cams at the end of each aisle
    • 70% speed limit at the end of the aisle to reduce the required buffer zone at the aisle ends
    • Cyclic approach to the buffer zone at low speed to free up space for an additional storage rack
  • Emergency mode/deactivation of external encoder: In the event of a fault, the external encoder can be deactivated in order to position the SRS in a maintenance position in jog mode (jogging).
  • Override: Function for reducing dynamic values to save energy during low capacity utilization (e.g. during night operation)
  • Static brake test (FCB 21): Brake test at standstill against the applied brake
