Start inhibit
The start inhibit activates the STO function and prevents the automatic startup of the safety option.
The safe digital outputs F-DO.. behave as follows depending on the settings of the Function selection (8709.1) parameter:
STO or SBC
- The safe digital outputs F-DO.. are set to the safe state.
None
- The safe digital outputs F-DO.. are not set to the safe state and can be controlled by the higher-level safety controller.
SBC + F-PA
- The safe digital outputs F-DO.. are set to the safe state.
The start inhibit is activated in the following cases:
- Switching on of the device with integrated safety option
- End of a muting function
- Parameterization in the event of a limit value violation
- Parameterization with pending input, output or encoder fault
- Parameterization during active brake test
- Parameterization with active errors in the EDM safety sub-function
- Restoration of the parameter set, e.g. after device replacement
- Restoration of the delivery state
The start inhibit can be deactivated as follows:
- Through a fault acknowledgment with a safe digital input F-DI or via the Fault acknowledgment bit on the safe process data
- For all causes (except for the start inhibit after powering on the device) by switching the device off and on again
Using the Fault status after startup parameter (8703.240), you can set whether the start inhibit is activated after the device is powered on.
