Firmware update

When establishing a connection, the IoT app checks the firmware version of the product. If a newer version of the firmware is available, you will be advised to perform an update. SEW-EURODRIVE recommends updating the firmware to the latest version to avoid security vulnerabilities and to keep the functionality of the product up to date.

The firmware update is transferred to the product in encrypted form. The integrity of the data is checked. The authenticity of the firmware is ensured via a signature issued by SEW-EURODRIVE. The firmware update can only be performed if the IoT app authenticates itself to the product using the password.
