Skew offset
With the "Skew offset" function, it is possible to shift the axis group members in relation to the setpoint position. The following diagram and explanations illustrate the behavior of the skew offset function in the "Skew priority" operating mode.
Depending on the offset mode, the behavior differs as follows:
All axis group members are in the "Forms actual position" offset mode
If "Forms actual position" is selected as the offset mode for all axis group members, a symmetrical offset must be specified for all axis group members. This means that the sum of all offsets must be 0.
Example:
- Setpoint position = 1000
- Offset of axis group members [1] = 100
- Offset of axis group members [2] = -100
- Offset of axis group members [3] = -200
- Offset of axis group members [4] = 200
Result:
- Actual position of axis group members [1] = 1100
- Actual position of axis group members [2] = 900
- Actual position of axis group members [3] = 800
- Actual position of axis group members [4] = 1200
- Actual position of software module = 1000 = setpoint position
One or more axis group members in the "Moves offset" mode
If "Moves offset" is selected as the offset mode for one or more of the axis group members, these axis group members are shifted by the skew offset in relation to the axis group members with "Forms actual position". As a result, one axis group member must always remain in "Forms actual position" offset mode.
Example 1:
- Setpoint position = 1000
- Offset mode of axis group member [1] = "Moves offset"
- Offset mode of axis group member [2] = "Forms actual position"
- Offset mode of axis group member [3] = "Moves offset"
- Offset mode of axis group member [4] = "Moves offset"
- Offset of axis group members [1] = 100
- Offset of axis group members [3] = -200
- Offset of axis group members [4] = 200
Result:
- Actual position of axis group members [1] = 1100
- Actual position of axis group members [2] = 1000
- Actual position of axis group members [3] = 800
- Actual position of axis group members [4] = 1200
- Actual position of software module = 1000 = setpoint position
Example 2:
- Setpoint position = 1000
- Offset mode of axis group member [1] = "Moves offset"
- Offset mode of axis group member [2] = "Forms actual position"
- Offset mode of axis group member [3] = "Forms actual position"
- Offset mode of axis group member [4] = "Moves offset"
- Offset of axis group members [1] = 300
- Offset of axis group members [2] = -100
- Offset of axis group members [3] = 100
- Offset of axis group members [4] = 200
Result:
- Actual position of axis group members [1] = 1300
- Actual position of axis group members [2] = 900
- Actual position of axis group members [3] = 1100
- Actual position of axis group members [4] = 1200
- Actual position of software module = 1000 = setpoint position
