Pulling a gap

The "Pulling a gap" function causes the "saw" to briefly travel oversynchronously to the material to be processed (i.e. faster than the material) before the saw blade is pulled out. This forms a gap between the cut edge and saw blade and avoids traces of the saw blade from remaining on the cut edge. After the gap has been pulled, the saw carriage continues to move synchronously with the material.

The following parameters are available for configuration of the functions in the "Controller functions" > "Flying saw" configuration menu in MOVISUITE®:

  • Gap: Size of the gap in user units of the saw carriage
  • Master distance: Distance traveled to the end of the process

Via the FlyingSaw Monitor there is also the option to change the runtime parameters, e.g. at startup.
