Use of safety controllers

The switch-off test pulse of the used safe digital outputs (F-DO) must be ≤ 1 ms and another switch-off test pulse must only occur 2 ms later at the earliest.

INFORMATION

  • SEW-EURODRIVE recommends setting the dark tests (switch-off tests) to 0.8 ms due to tolerances in the safety controllers. Refer to the description of your safety controller for where and how to set this time.
  • If the safety-related control voltage at the STO connection is switched off (STO activated), the specifications in chapter Requirements for the external safety controller must be adhered to in regard to the test pulses.
  • If F_STO_P is connected to DC 24 V, and F_STO_M is connected to GND, STO is deactivated.
