Encoder evaluation of the CSS safety option

The CSS safety option supports the EI7C FS safe encoder and safety encoders with MOVILINK^® DDI. This means that the following conditions are met:

• The encoder fulfills the prescribed safety requirements according to EN ISO 13849‑1 and EN 62061.
• The encoder is approved for the use of speed/position-dependent safety sub-functions.

The safety encoder is connected as follows:

• The EI7C FS safe encoder is connected to the basic device at X18.
• The safety encoder with MOVILINK^® DDI is connected to the basic device at X16.

The encoder that is used is selected in the Assist CS.. tool in the "Encoder" dialog via the "Encoder type" drop-down list. All of the required encoder configurations are taken over. If the selection of the encoder in the drive train differs from the set motor encoder in the drive train, the parameter is marked with an "i".
