OPC events

Event timestamp

For OPC server events, the timestamp indicates the time when data was recorded by an OPC server by the SDC and published in an event.

As OPC servers usually only update data when the value has changed compared to the previous data, a new event is not automatically published by the SDC every second even if the cycle is set to 1 s. The timestamp therefore indicates the last time an OPC server reported a change to the SDC.

The timestamp is specified as a unix time in [ms]. The unix time contains the number of milliseconds since Jan 1, 1970, 0:00. The unix time can be converted into the common time format e.g. using tools available online.
