Project planning procedure

The following flow diagram illustrates the project planning procedure for a MOVIMOT^® performance drive unit consisting of gear unit, motor and inverter. This is a highly simplified illustration that serves to clarify the process. For example, the following points are left out:

• Operation above nominal motor speed
• Project planning of a mechanical brake
• Checking non-cyclical special loads
• Checking the startup conditions for operation without encoder
• Project planning of external braking resistors
• Consideration of the mass moment of inertia ratio
• Detailed calculation of permitted overhung loads
