1. Other software modules can use the energy coupling to check whether an error is active in the PES system. (xExternalError = "TRUE")
2. Desired response of the axes: Emergency stop + output stage inhibit (but response can be application-specific)
3. Disconnection of the energy storage unit according to the following fulfilled criterion:
4. A parameterizable time has elapsed after the error has occurred OR the connected axes report standstill. This allows for an emergency stop of the connected axes before the energy storage unit is disconnected from the device.
