Operation without energy storage unit (fallback)

Due to the switching of the energy storage unit, changing to this operating mode must be performed at standstill and with inhibited output stage.

In the "1 synchronization contactor in negative pole" configuration, the load-break switch of the energy storage unit must also be disconnected in order to use operation without storage unit, so that all poles of the energy storage unit are disconnected. This step can be omitted in the "2 synchronization contactors" configuration.
Fallback mode, i.e. operation without energy storage unit allows for fully automated operation of the PES system. Customers can use this operating mode to operate the PES system at maximum device power and with a fixed voltage setpoint. To use the mode, these values must first be configured in MOVISUITE®.
Using the operating mode is useful, among other things, if the connected energy storage unit reports a malfunction and must be disconnected from the PES system. To ensure that a parking position can still be approached in this situation, for example, the input power is increased to the maximum device power (application limit). The purpose of this is an attempt to compensate for the lost additional power supply from the energy storage unit.
