Azure blob storage
The following setting fields are also available for the "Azure blob storage" endpoint type (NOTE: Observe the notes following the table when configuring the endpoint):
Setting field | Description |
|---|---|
Azure blob | |
Connection string or SAS URL for Azure blob | Specify the string that contains the Azure blob address and authentication information. For IT security reasons, it is generally recommended to use a SAS URL. For an example of how to update an Azure blob endpoint with expired SAS URL, refer to chapter Updating the expired SAS URL of an Azure blob endpoint. |
[Initialize endpoint] | Create all of the required directories in the endpoint. |
[Check access] | Check whether the selected storage destination can be accessed. |
Proxy | |
Proxy type | Select the proxy type:
|
Proxy URL | Enter the URL of the proxy server. |
Note the following when using the "Azure blob storage" endpoint type:
- The user must manually create the blob container used as the endpoint in the Azure blob. You can generate and view the "Connection string or SAS URL required for the configuration of this blob container" via the Azure web interface.
- If you use a SAS URL without specifying the blob container name, the used blob container must be called "sdc". If a blob container with a different name is to be used, this blob container name must be included in the SAS URL.
- If you have defined a validity period for the Azure blob, the connection to the endpoint is no longer possible after this time period has elapsed. In this case, you must generate a new SAS URL for the Azure blob via the Azure web interface and replace the old SAS URL in the configuration of the endpoint with the new SAS URL. For an application example, refer to chapter Updating the expired SAS URL of an Azure blob endpoint.
- If you are using the IoT Suite and wish to request the SAS URL, contact:
driveradar@sew-eurodrive.de - The timeout for connection to the Azure cloud is 60 s.
