General settings

Show metadata warnings if metadata is incomplete

Specify whether warnings (small warning triangles) are displayed in the device list for the devices if the "application type" and "functional location" metadata are not filled. The option is disabled by default.

Check internet connectivity and notify user

Specify whether the connection to www.sew-eurodrive.de should be checked periodically (5 min) in the background and a warning should be displayed in the event of an error. The option is disabled by default.

Check data containers for overlapping parameter configurations

Specify whether a data container is to be compared with other data containers when creating or saving a data container to detect data redundancy. If the same parameters are detected in the data model, a message is displayed. This message can be ignored via a button. The option is enabled by default.

Disable MOVI-B scope data containers if MotionStudio Scope tool is running

Specify whether a process monitor is executed in the background that monitors whether a MotionStudio scope application is running. If this is the case, a warning is displayed and all MOVI-B scope data containers are deactivated temporarily. When the MotionStudio scope application is closed, the MOVI-B scope data containers are automatically activated again. The option is enabled by default.

Discard MOVI-B and MOVI-C scope container events if sample count is incomplete

Reject data events if the number of read data points during scope recording is less than the number of configured data points. This case occurs, for example if the scope memory is too small for a fixed number of data points. Instead of sending the incomplete scope recording as a data event, the data is simply discarded when this option is activated. An error message is not displayed.

Start and close

Action when application is closed

Select which of the following actions should be performed when closing the application.

  • Ask
  • Hide
  • Disable
  • Terminate

Run software on startup of Windows

Specify whether the software should start automatically when Windows starts. The option is disabled by default.

  • Background mode – All of the software's services, with the exception of the user interface, start in the background (DriveComm, OpcuaClient, Transmitter, Broker, Database). Not starting the user interface requires less processor power than in user mode.
  • User mode – All of the software's services and the user interface start up (DriveComm, OpcuaClient, Transmitter, Broker, Database, UI).

Language

Language

Select the display language used for the user interface. The system language is set by default.

IoT Suite operating mode

Activate the preconfigured settings to work optimally with the software in conjunction with the IoT Suite. Once you have confirmed the activation, the program configuration is adjusted accordingly.

Deactivating the mode afterwards does not mean that the adjusted program configuration is undone but merely that the settings of the mode are not forced any further. To reset the configuration, save the current settings before activating the IoT Suite operating mode. See also Data backup.

Factory settings

Reset the software to the factory settings. All the current settings will be deleted.

System services

Stop all background services (e.g. in the event of an error) and then start again. The wait time is approx. 50 seconds.
