Network load
The following table shows the generated cyclic real-time network load per PROFINET device. This is based on a PROFINET packet size of 60 bytes and a PROFINET data rate of 100 Mbit/s.

In order to leave sufficient reserves for extensions and especially for NRT (Non Real Time) communication, observe the following limit values for the network load of the cyclic real-time communication when planning the PROFINET network:
Network load | Recommendation |
|---|---|
< 20% | No action required. |
20% to 50% | Check the planned network load. |
> 50% | Reduce the network load. |
