PROFINET networks – Recommendations

PROFINET (Process Field Network) is the communication standard for automation from PROFIBUS and PROFINET International (PI).

The modular range of functions makes PROFINET a flexible solution for all applications and markets. The following applications can be implemented using PROFINET:

• Applications for production automation and process automation
• Safety applications
• Applications for the entire spectrum of drive technology through to isochronous motion control applications

When planning and starting up a PROFINET network, observe the information and regulations of the PROFIBUS user organization (PNO) as well as of PROFIBUS and PROFINET International (PI).
