Fieldbus gateway

The "Gateway Solution" application for controllers can be used to implement cost-efficient solutions for controlling inverters of the MOVI-C^® modular automation system via fieldbus. Unlike direct fieldbus control, no individual fieldbus interface is required in the inverters, which often results in a cost advantage for the overall system.

The process data communication from the PLC to the inverters is transparently routed to the SBus^PLUS by the "Gateway Solution" application. The data is not interpreted in the "Gateway Solution" application.

The following figure shows an example of the device installation with MOVI-C^® CONTROLLER standard UHX25A as the fieldbus gateway.

• The MOVI-C^® CONTROLLER operates as a fieldbus device (in this case PROFINET device on PROFINET network) and transfers the fieldbus setpoints and fieldbus actual values to the inverter via the SBus^PLUS interface.
• Only one fieldbus control is required for communication. The inverters communicate via the integrated SBus^PLUS interface.
• The configuration is performed automatically in the MOVISUITE^® engineering software. Users do not need any programming experience.
• For each axis, 1 – 16 process data words can be configured individually.
