Brake test

Observe the following firmware dependencies for the "Brake control" monitoring function integrated in the inverter of the MOVI-C® modular automation system in combination with the "SBT safe brake test" or "FCB21 brake test" functions.

INFORMATION

Other brake tests are not compatible with the monitoring function. In this case, use the SBT safe brake test or FCB21 brake test or deactivate the monitoring function.
SBT safe brake test
  • Inverters of the MOVI-C® modular automation system with firmware version 9 to 12:
    • The "Brake control" monitoring function is compatible with the SBT safe brake test, configured for testing a brake.
    • The "Brake control" monitoring function is not compatible with the SBT safe brake test, configured for testing 2 brakes.
    • The "Brake control" monitoring function is automatically deactivated internally for the duration of the active SBT safe brake test. Fault detection for the switching state of the STATUS signal is not possible during the active SBT brake test.
  • Inverters of the MOVI-C® modular automation system with firmware version ≥ 13:
    • The "Brake control" monitoring function is compatible with the SBT safe brake test, configured for testing 1 brake or 2 brakes.
    • The "Brake control" monitoring function is automatically deactivated internally for the duration of the active SBT safe brake test. Fault detection for the switching state of the STATUS signal is not possible during the active SBT brake test.
FCB21 Brake test
  • Inverters of the MOVI-C® modular automation system with firmware version 9 to 12:
    • The "Brake control" monitoring function is compatible with the FCB21 brake test, configured for testing 1 brake or 2 brakes.
    • The "Brake control" monitoring function is automatically deactivated internally for the duration of the active FCB21 brake test. Fault detection for the switching state of the STATUS signal is not possible during the active FCB21 brake test.
  • Inverters of the MOVI-C® modular automation system with firmware version ≥ 13:
    • The "Brake control" monitoring function is compatible with the FCB21 brake test, configured for testing 1 brake or 2 brakes.
    • The "Brake control" monitoring function remains activated during the active FCB21 brake test. Fault detection for the switching state of the STATUS signal is possible during the active FCB21 brake test.
