Behavior of the software limit switches
The behavior when a software limit switch is hit depends on the selected operating mode, the use of the fieldbus connection, and the configuration of the operating modes.
- Jog – position-controlled (100)
- The "Jog – position controlled" operating mode stops precisely on the software limit switches. This means that it reaches them at speed 0 and uses the deceleration ramp of the operating mode. Afterwards, the corresponding error message is issued:
- 16#7613 – Positive software limit switch hit.
- 16#7614 – Negative software limit switch hit.
- If the actual position is already outside of the software limit switch positions at the beginning, no movement takes place and one of the above error messages is issued.
- Speed (101)
- Upon reaching the software limit switch, one of the following errors is issued and the error response configured in the "Monitoring functions" > "Limit switch" configuration menu is implemented. The position of the software limit switch is exceeded.
- 16#7613 – Positive software limit switch hit.
- 16#7614 – Negative software limit switch hit.
- If the actual position is already outside of the software limit switch positions at the beginning, no movement takes place and one of the above error messages is issued.
- Positioning – absolute (400)
- Target position monitoring on
- If target position monitoring is active or if operating mode "Positioning – absolute" is used, the following error message is issued in the case of a setpoint position outside of the software limit switch. Furthermore, no movement takes place.
- 16#760A – Target position beyond software limit switches
- If the actual position is already outside of the software limit switch positions at the beginning, no movement takes place and the above error message is issued.
- Target position monitoring off
- If target position monitoring is not used, one of the following errors is issued, and the error response configured in the "Monitoring functions" > "End switch" configuration menu is implemented upon reaching the software limit switch. The position of the software limit switch is exceeded.
- 16#7613 – Positive software limit switch hit.
- 16#7614 – Negative software limit switch hit.
- If the actual position is already outside of the software limit switch positions at the beginning, no movement takes place and one of the above error messages is issued.
- Positioning – relative (401)
- Target position monitoring on
- If target position monitoring is active, the following error message is issued in the case of a setpoint position outside of the software limit switch.
- Synchronous operation (1000)
- The master first reaches its software limit switch
- If the master reaches the software limit switch before its slave, the slave stops without an error.
- The slave is outside of its software limit switch from the start
- If the slave is already located outside of the software limit switch positions before the master starts moving, one of the following errors is issued, and no slave movement takes place. However, the master starts its movement.
- 16#7613 – Positive software limit switch hit.
- 16#7614 – Negative software limit switch hit.
- The slave reaches its software limit switch before the master
- Upon reaching the software limit switch, one of the following errors is issued and the error response configured in the "Monitoring functions" > "Limit switch" configuration menu is implemented. The position of the software limit switch is exceeded. Nevertheless, the master continues its movement.
- 16#7613 – Positive software limit switch hit.
- 16#7614 – Negative software limit switch hit.
