SEW-EURODRIVE cannot currently offer support or advice regarding the safe operation of the Schaeffler OPTIME gateway via LAN connections or Wi-Fi connections for data transmission. SEW-EURODRIVE recommends transmitting sensor data exclusively via the mobile radio modem integrated in the gateway, since there is no connection to the network of the machine operator or system operator.

A temporary access point can be used to configure the gateway for initial setup and later engineering activities. SEW-EURODRIVE recommends deactivating this access point after startup or later engineering activities have been completed, and restricting physical access to the gateway as much as possible.
