License model
A corresponding software license is required to use certain MOVIKIT® software modules. The license model for the MOVIKIT® software modules distinguishes between performance licenses and single licenses.
Performance license
Performance licenses for a software function have to be purchased only once per MOVI‑C® CONTROLLER. The function can be used for any number of instances with this type of license. The performance class which is required for a performance license depends on the MOVI‑C® CONTROLLER that is used.
If the function is a software function for axes, then the number of axes that can be used is limited by the recommended maximum number of axes of the respective MOVI‑C® CONTROLLER.

Example of a performance license
For the MOVIKIT® MultiMotion Camming software module, you purchase one performance license for each MOVI-C® CONTROLLER. This allows you to use the software module with as many axes as permitted by the MOVI-C® CONTROLLER in use.
Single license
Single licenses must be purchased individually for each instance that will use the respective software module. There is a fixed price for single licenses, irrespective of the performance class of the MOVI-C® CONTROLLER in use.
Example of a single license
To implement 2 robots, you need 2 single licenses for the MOVIKIT® Robotics software module.
Software license binding
MOVI-C® CONTROLLER and MOVI-C® FIELD CONTROLLER
SEW-EURODRIVE software licenses for MOVI-C® CONTROLLER and MOVI-C® FIELDCONTROLLER are linked to the storage medium and bound to it. Activated software licenses can no longer be removed from the storage medium.
In the event of a hardware defect, the storage medium with the application software and software licenses can be transferred to the new hardware.

SEW-EURODRIVE software licenses for MOVIDRIVE® are directly linked to the device.
In the event of a hardware defect, remember to also order the software license that was linked to the defective device.
