STO – Safe Torque Off

When the STO safety subfunction is active, the power supply to the motor is interrupted and the drive cannot generate any torque. The STO safety subfunction corresponds to a non-controlled stop according to EN 60204‑1, stop category 0.

INFORMATION

The motor coasts to a halt or is stopped mechanically.

Controlled standstill is preferred, if possible.
