Installation

With the MOVIMOT® advanced, the EI7C FS built-in encoder is connected to encoder input X3301 via a cable premounted on the connection unit.

WARNING

Incorrect wiring can disable the encoder function and monitoring features for the EI7C FS built-in encoder.
Severe or fatal injuries.
  • You may connect the EI7C FS built-in encoder only with the MOVISAFE® CSL51A/CSS51A safety option.
  • You may connect the encoder signals only to the connectors of a basic device of decentralized electronics designated for this purpose. It is not permitted to connect other devices or assemblies.
  • When connecting an EI7C FS built-in encoder to the MOVISAFE® CSL51A/CSS51A safety option, the encoder cable must not carry a TF signal.
  • If a MOVISAFE® CSS51A or MOVISAFE® CSL51A safety option is installed in the device, the device with firmware version 10.00 deactivates the brake chopper.
  • If a MOVISAFE® CSS51A or MOVISAFE® CSL51A safety option is installed in the device and the EI7C FS built-in encoder is parameterized, the device deactivates the brake chopper as of firmware version 11.00.
  • With deactivated brake chopper, the brake coil cannot be used for the dissipation of regenerative energy. Instead, use an appropriate braking resistor.
  • When using the EI7C FS, the basic device MOVIMOT® advanced must be supplied with external DC 24 V voltage.
