Preset import

The Preset import function in the "Settings" menu on the "Data backup" tab automatically imports all configuration files from the preset folder when the program is started or manually when a button is clicked (default path: C:\ProgramData\SEW\SmartDataCollector\preset), and stores the loaded program configurations in the SDC database.

In any number of subdirectories, the preset folder can contain various configurable objects from the software (e.g. exported groups, data containers, or endpoints) as well as settings for importing. The configuration files from the preset folder are deleted after the import. Re-inserting the same configuration files in the preset folder results in a new import and the already imported and edited objects are overwritten. To prevent overwriting, create a copy of the corresponding object to obtain an object with a new ID.

To use the function, proceed as follows:

  1. Export the desired configurable objects from the software (e.g. groups, data containers, or endpoints) into a file.
  2. Export the program configuration to a file.
  3. Copy the exported files to the preset folder (default path: C:\ProgramData\SEW\SmartDataCollector\preset).
  • All configuration files from the preset folder are imported at the next program start or by clicking the corresponding button and the loaded program configurations are saved in the SDC database.
