Backstop /BS

The purpose of the backstop is to prevent unwanted directions of rotation. During operation, the backstop permits rotation only in the specified direction.

The backstop works with centrifugal lift-off sprags. Once the lift-off speed is reached, the sprags completely lift off from the contact surface of the outer ring. The backstop is lubricated with the gear unit oil.
