Upon delivery the gear unit is filled with oil at the factory.

The gear unit is delivered filled with oil ex works.

NOTICE

Faulty startup may result in damage to the gear unit.
Possible damage to property.
  • Note that gear units with a shaft end pump, a motor pump, or a customer-installed cooling system must be vented before being taken into operation.
  • Fill the shaft end pump completely with oil shortly before taking it into operation.

 

The following figure is an example. Proceed as follows.

  1. Remove the closing plug.
  1. Insert the breather [1] included in the delivery. For the position of the breather, refer to the order documents.
  1. The oil level may deviate during transport, or due to different ambient conditions at the destination. For this reason, the oil filling must be checked and corrected if necessary. Check the oil level, see chapter Checking the oil level.
