Basic gear unit
- WARNING! Risk of burns due to hot gear unit and hot gear unit oil. Severe injuries. Allow the gear unit to cool down below 50 °C before you start working on it.
- Place a suitably large container underneath the oil drain [1].
- Remove the oil filling plug(s)/breather(s) [2]. If necessary, remove the splash guard adapter [2].
- Open the oil drain [1] carefully. Drain all the oil into the container.
- Clean the magnetic oil drain plug, if available.
- Close the oil drain [1] again.
- Pour in new oil of the same grade through the oil filling opening [2].
- The oil quantity specified on the nameplate is an approximate quantity. The markings on the oil dipstick or the oil level glass are the decisive indicators of the correct oil quantity. For additional information, refer to chapter Checking the oil level.
- Use a clean filling aid without zinc coating (plastic funnel or similar).
- Screw the oil fill plug [2] with the integrated oil dipstick back into place.
- CAUTION! Danger due to leakage of lubricant. Possible risk of slipping. Immediately remove any oil that has escaped with oil binder.
