Swing base /SB

A swing base is a steel construction [1] to accommodate the gear unit, (hydraulic) coupling, and motor (plus brake, if required), including safety devices such as covers. It is usually used for

  • Hollow-shaft gear units or
  • Solid shaft gear units with rigid flange coupling on the output shaft

The steel construction [1] is supported by a torque arm [2].

The system frame must be sufficiently dimensioned to absorb the torque.
