Selecting the inverters

A DC link connection with the MOVIDRIVE® MDR60A.. regenerative power supply can only be established with inverters with a connection voltage of AC 380 to 500 V. Connect only the regenerative power supply to the supply system. The inverters connected via the DC link must not be connected directly to the line voltage.

A fixed number of points is assigned to the inverters. The following tables show the assigned number of points per inverter as well as the permitted number of points for the regenerative power supply. Do not connect inverters whose number of points exceeds the values specified here.

Other points that you must observe when selecting the inverters are:

  • The maximum output power of all connected inverters must not exceed 150% of the nominal power of the regenerative power supply.
  • The continuous power of all connected inverters must not exceed 125% of the nominal power of the regenerative power supply.

Do not connect inverters of size 4 or size 5 to the regenerative power supply module on their own. Operate these inverters together with at least one MOVIDRIVE® system/technology inverter of size 1 to 3 or MOVITRAC® advanced inverter of size 0L. This restriction does not apply if the regenerative power supply module is used as a brake module.

The maximum permitted number of evaluation points is not exceeded; the combination is permitted. The nominal power of the MOVIDRIVE® MDR60A.. regenerative power supply is PN = 15 kW. The maximum output power of the connected inverters occurring must not exceed 150% × PN = 22.5 kW at any time.
