Configuring MOVIKIT® EncoderInterface
INFORMATION

For more detailed information on the MOVIKIT® EncoderInterface, refer to the associated documentation. Contact SEW‑EURODRIVE for more information about the "Delay compensation" function.
Perform the following configuration steps if you are using a MOVIKIT® EncoderInterface as the master source for the software module:
- Open the configuration of the MOVIKIT® EncoderInterface.
- In the "EncoderInterface" section of the "Module configuration" > "EncoderInterface" menu, select the type "Advanced".
- Select the "Encoder 2 connected to inverter" setting as "Data source".
- Under "Axis name", select the axis with the software module and external encoder card.
- Set the "Number of decimal places" to the same number as in "Drive train DT2" of the inverter with the software module. All other parameters in the "Parameter user unit" section are not permitted to be changed.
- Set the "1st terminal lead" to "active" and optionally configure a filter in the "Settings" section that is then displayed.
- If you are using the MOVIKIT® EncoderInterface and an external encoder, an application-specific delay occurs in the signal path of the master-slave coupling. This delay can lead to an offset of the resulting cutting position, particularly in applications with print marks. The "Delay compensation" function can be used to compensate for this delay. To do so, activate the "Delay compensation" function in the "Settings of the 1st terminal lead" section and enter a corresponding value (suggested value: 0.008 (8 ms)).
