Look Ahead function

The Look Ahead function can be activated and deactivated. See chapter Description of the functions for a description. To guarantee fault-free operation, use the Look Ahead function for at least 3 connected zones in a conveyor line.

Function parameters:

• Creep speed: 20 – 100% of the parameter value speed / rotational speed
• Fast release time: 0 – 15 s

The fast release time is a time delay when switching to creep speed. Use this setting for fine adjustment of the Look Ahead function and optimizing the throughput.

Examples

Material to be conveyed enters in creep speed

With activated Look Ahead function, in case of a positive edge, the system switches to speed v₂. If the timer fast release time is activated, switching from v₁ to v₂ is delayed by the set time.

Jam in downstream zone

If the accumulated material is enabled with activated Look Ahead function and should be accumulated in the downstream zone again, the material to be conveyed is moved with speed v₂. If the fast release time timer is active, the behavior might change. After enable, the material starts with speed v₁ and switches to v₂ after the set time has passed. This optimization is recommended for long conveying zones.
