Import of default settings

The Import of default settings function in the "Settings" menu in the "Data backup" tab automatically imports all configuration files from the preferences directory (default path: C:\ProgramData\SEW\SmartDataCollector\preset) when the program is started or manually by clicking a button. The loaded program configurations are saved in the SDC database.

The preferences directory can contain various configurable objects from the software (e.g. exported groups, containers or endpoints) in any number of subdirectories and settings for importing. The configuration files from the preferences directory are deleted after the import. Inserting the same configuration files again in the preferences directory results in a new import and overwriting of already imported and edited objects. To prevent overwriting, create a copy of the corresponding object to obtain an object with a new ID.

To use the function, proceed as follows:

  1. Export the desired configurable objects from the software (e.g. groups, containers, or endpoints) in a file.
  2. Export the program configuration to a file.
  3. Copy the exported files to the preferences directory (default path: C:\ProgramData\SEW\SmartDataCollector\preset).
  • All configuration files from the preferences directory are imported at the next program start or by clicking the corresponding button and the loaded program configurations are saved in the SDC database.
