Energy supply
Mobile systems equipped with an energy storage unit require an energy supply.
Charging technology | Description |
---|---|
Conductive charging | With conductive charging technology, the current is transferred to the mobile system using a connector or a sliding contact. This includes either manual intervention to plug a connector into the mobile system or the automatic moving to charging points, short conductor rails or similar around the circuit. This charging technology sometimes requires very precise maneuvering of the vehicles. Charging contacts can be subject to wear. |
Contactless charging (inductive) | Inductive charging technology uses a stationary coil and a mobile coil in the vehicle to transmit energy wirelessly. This eliminates the need for connectors, sockets or open contacts on the mobile system or stationary charging technology. |
